NHL notes for the day:

Montreal has lost 6 of the last 8 games and are 8-9-0 on the road so far this season. Forward Travis Moan is questionable for tonight's game (flu).

St. Louis signed Marek Svatos to a one year deal. The former Colorado Avalanche has 96 goals and 68 assists in 316 career games. Svatos signed with the KHL this season, but was recently released from his contract.

Philadelphia squares off against Vancouver tonight after an 8 game break. The Flyers have not lost in Vancouver since Jan. 17th, 1989. Philly is 7-2-1 this December.

Pittsburgh superstar Sidney Crosby will try to extend his points streak to 25 games tonight against the Atlanta Thrashers. Crosby currently leads the NHL in both goals (30) and points (61).

Chicago is hoping to have Patrick Kane back in the lineup for tonight's game. Kane has missed the past 3 weeks with an ankle injury.
